Safety Guidelines
At Singles Escape UK, your security is our top priority. While we work hard to keep our community safe, it’s important to stay vigilant and follow these best practices when interacting with others.
The Golden Rule: Never send money or share financial details with someone you have met online, no matter how convincing their story may be.
Online Security
- Protect your personal info: Avoid sharing your home address, workplace, or specific daily routine until you have built a high level of trust.
- Stay on the platform: Keep your conversations within our secure messaging system for as long as possible. We cannot protect you once you move to WhatsApp or private email.
- Research your match: It’s okay to do a quick social media search or reverse-image search to ensure the person you’re talking to is who they say they are.
- Beware of sob stories: Scammers often use emotional manipulation, claiming they need money for a family emergency or a plane ticket to see you.
Meeting in Person
- Meet in public: For your first few dates, always meet in a well-lit, busy public place like a café or restaurant. Never agree to meet at a private home.
- Tell a friend: Share your date's name, the location, and the time you expect to be home with a trusted friend or family member.
- Own your transport: Always have your own way to and from the date. Don't let your date pick you up or drop you off at home the first time.
- Stay sober: Keep a clear head. Watch your drink at all times and be mindful of how much alcohol you consume.
Reporting Concerns
If you encounter a profile that seems suspicious, or if a member behaves inappropriately, please use our Report feature immediately. We investigate all reports, including:
- Requests for money or donations.
- Users who appear to be under 18.
- Harassment, threats, or offensive messages.
- Fraudulent profiles or commercial solicitation.
Remember, your intuition is your best tool. If something feels "off," it probably is. Don't be afraid to walk away or block a user.
